We learned last week that the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans was quietly planning to close Coast Guard stations in Manitoba and Ontario, in addition to cutting the critical search and rescue dive program in British Columbia.
Just this weekend, the Coast Guard in Gimli saved a girl and a boy on Lake Winnipeg when their inflatable dinghy floated too far from the shore.
The BC dive program and our Coast Guard stations save lives. The Liberals need to reverse these decisions immediately.
